Izzy’s England Challenge!

Here is what James has to say about an outstanding member of his mixed team and her influence in a male dominated division.

Isabella “Izzy” Green joined us at the start of the season (U15), stepping into our Dorset Division 1 mixed squad.

She came looking for a challenge and the chance to test herself physically against the boys, all while balancing her AFC Bournemouth commitments. From her very first trial session, it was clear she was a powerful, intelligent player and incredibly coachable.

She’s been outstanding throughout the season and has consistently been one of the standout performers in every fixture we’ve played—much to the surprise of a few opposition coaches!

Thanks to her talent, work ethic and determination, Izzy was recently selected for the England Schoolgirls trials.

She’s now earned her place in the finals and will compete at St George’s Park in March 2026.

A huge achievement already, and fully deserved.
